0740: UPDATE: Sky Sports are reporting that the Gary Hooper deal to Norwich won't happen.
Bit happening around Tottenham at the moment:
* they remain in pursuit of signing Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao
* Jermaine Jenas has arrived for talks to rejoin former boss Harry Redknapp at QPR from Tottenham.
and kind of Spurs related news ...
* their former player Reto Ziegler has signed for Turkish side Fenerbahce from Juventus until the end of the season
Jenas, Samba, Odemwingie ..... how is 'Arry coping!?!
0735: Statement from West Brom re Odemwingie:
'Albion have moved to clarify developments regarding Peter Odemwingie after the striker was filmed a short while ago arriving at Loftus Road.
'The club can confirm they have held further discussions with QPR today but those talks have so far proven fruitless and no agreement has been reached.
'Albion would also like to make clear that Peter has not been given permission to speak to QPR about a potential move.'
0730: Morning all, Adam here; all set for a fun next few hours.
Will be here right up until the bitter, or if you are QPR,
expensive end.
Surprised at Arsenal making a move for Spanish left back
Nacho Monreal. Surprised because given the Andre Santos performance yesterday
and Kieran Gibbs’ injury, it makes sense.
This Peter Odemwingie move looks set to go right up until
the deadline at 10am AEST. Just has that feel about it.
Chris Samba is a great signing for QPR – but man are they in
real strife if they go into the Championship.
One of those near miss stories on deadline day involves Mark
Schwarzer. He was just about to have major competition from Maarten Stekelenburg,
who was given permission by Roma to talk to Fulham. As he was on the plane to England
to talk details with Fulham, Roma changed their mind because they couldn’t get
a replacement in from Fiorentina, so deal off. The Italian window has shut, Schwarzer can breath a bit easier.
And just in, Norwich are rumoured to have made a 5th
bid for Celtic striker Gary Hooper, in the region of 9 million pounds. Which is
a lot of money. A lot. Not sure why Hooper would leave, given the Champions
League knockout stages on the horizon.
0720: We've woken up to some pretty big news this morning. Here's some of the big deals we're watching:
* West Brom have said Peter Odemwingie has not been given permission to speak to QPR about a potential move.
* Arsenal are ready to complete £10m deal for Malaga's Nacho Monreal
* Stoke are set to announce signing of Jack Butland after keeper completes medical
0715: 'YES, ALWAYS YOU'
That's the headline that a cheeky Milan greeted Balotelli with as he arrived back in Italy to complete the move.
CONFIRMED: Balotelli and AC Milan confirm four-and-a-half-year deal for for £19m.
"I will always have a very special place in my heart for City, it's a great club with a great future," he told the Manchester club's website.
"I thank them for all of their support of me. Maybe one day we will see each other again."
While we go back to hit the phones like ‘Arry’s men are no doubt doing, here’s a list of the deals DONE so far this morning. Looks like QPR have high expectations!

Morning all! David Weiner here with you to work the phones,
the Twitter-sphere and to banter around down-right gossip as Deadline Day
reaches its climax.
It’s that crazy time of year when suits and mobile phones do
more work than football boots, and we’ll have all the angles covered over the
last final hours of the January Transfer window.
One of the biggest names of them kicked things off, with
David Beckham opting for Paris over Parramatta (and probably another 100
offers!) to continue his career – for free! That’s right, Becks is donating his
wage to a children’s charity in France.
Before we kick-off, here's a re-cap of the deals that have taken the headlines so far throughout January:
