Ở ngôi nhà nghèo thuộc xã Xuân Mỹ, huyện Cẩm Mỹ, tỉnh Đồng Nai, gia đình nhỏ của ông Nguyễn Văn Năng (SN 1958) vốn chỉ trông chờ vào thu hoạch vườn điều bỗng dưng trở nên bề thế khác thường từ khi trúng số hàng trăm triệu vào năm 2006. Nhưng chỉ hai năm sau, ông bỗng dưng bị bại liệt trong những lời đồn ác ý liên quan đến “điềm gở” từ việc trúng số.
Thoát nghèo nhờ trúng xổ số
Ở vùng đất bạt ngàn rừng cao su xanh biếc và vườn điều trĩu hạt huyện Cẩm Mỹ (Đồng Nai), người đàn ông với dáng vẻ một anh canh điền lực lưỡng năm nào, giờ đây xuống sức hơn trước nhiều vì căn bệnh bại liệt tai quái hành hạ. Đã từng trúng số hàng trăm triệu đồng gần 10 năm về trước khi xem kqxs, một khoản tiền đáng mơ ước đối với bất kỳ người dân nào ở đây nhưng khi nhắc đến, anh chỉ cười nhạt “của thiên trả địa thôi cô ơi. Âu đó cũng là số mạng của tôi vậy!”
Ông N��ng lớn lên trong một gia đình không mấy khá giả, ba mẹ đều làm công nhân cạo mủ cao su cho nông trường. Học hết lớp văn hóa, chàng thanh niên trẻ ở nhà phụ giúp ba mẹ chăm sóc vườn điều tạo thu nhập thêm cho các em ăn học. Đến tuổi “cập kê”, anh cảm mến người con gái làng kế bên trong những lần đi chơi cùng chúng bạn.
Sau đó không lâu, anh rước nàng về rinh trong sự chúc phúc của hai bên họ hàng. Cuộc sống của đôi vợ chồng mới cưới chỉ trông chờ vào thu hoạch từ vườn điều và một số cây trái trong vườn mà ba mẹ đã “nhượng” lại cho đứa con trai. Lúc đầu, chỉ có hai vợ chồng cũng không có gì tốn kém, cuộc sống “tân hôn” vẫn trôi qua êm đềm và no đủ.
Thế nhưng, khi những đứa con lần lượt ra đời,đứa thứ nhất rồi đến thứ hai, thứ tư được chào đón trong hoàn cảnh kinh tế càng chật vật khiến vườn điều trĩu hạt cũng không thể nuôi đủ từng đó miệng ăn nheo nhóc. Quẫn bách, anh phải nai lưng cùng vợ đi làm thuê mướn khắp nơi trong vùng, chắt chiu từng đồng bạc lẻ để những đứa con tội nghiệp không phải chịu cảnh thiếu ăn. Cứ thế, đàn con thơ lớn d���n trên những hạt điều sau vườn và những giọt mồ hôi cực nhọc của đôi vợ chồng giờ đã trung tuổi.
Không chỉ quần quật làm việc ngày đêm, vợ chồng ông vẫn ngày đêm mong ước “thần tài” đến có cửa bằng cách mua xổ số mỗi khi gặp chiêm bao điều gì đấy. Cuối cùng, vận may cũng mỉm cười với gia đình vợ chồng nghèo. Hôm ấy, thấy bà bán vé số đi ngang và những người hàng xóm rủ nhau mua lấy hên, ông cũng móc túi lấy tiền “góp vui”, mua liền 3 tờ cùng một seri 21832 của đài TP. HCM. Khi những người hàng xóm đã về hết, ông mua thêm hai tờ vé số nữa, lòng thầm cầu mong được đổi đời. Qua hôm sau, niềm vui vỡ òa trong căn nhà nhỏ khi người bán vé số đến báo tin mừng: Cả năm tờ ông vừa mua trúng giải nhất, mỗi tờ trị giá 100 triệu đồng. Thời điểm năm 2006, đó là một số tiền “khủng” đối với bất cứ người dân nào ở vùng quê cao su bạt ngàn này.
Có được “lộc trời”, người dân ai cũng mừng cho gia đình vợ chồng nghèo. Thế nhưng, ông lại giấu nhẹm việc trúng hai tờ sau đó, nói với vợ con và hàng xóm rằng mình chỉ trúng ba tờ mua cùng họ. Nhưng sau đó, m���t người hàng xóm đã nhìn thấy và chứng thực rằng ông đã mua thêm hai tờ vé, trúng liền năm giải nhất, tổng cộng năm trăm triệu đồng. Số tiền trúng số đã làm cuộc sống của gia đình người canh điền nghèo thay đổi rất nhiều. Căn nhà nhỏ cấp bốn tềnh toàng, dột nát đã được thay thế bởi ngôi nhà mới khang trang với nhiều vật dụng tiện nghi. Những đứa con của ông nhờ thế được ăn ngon mặc đẹp, có tiền đóng học phí cho bằng bạn bằng bè. Thời điểm đó, trong ngôi làng bé nhỏ cũng lác đácvài người trúng giải an ủi nhưng chỉ có ông mới được “trời cho” nhiều đến như vậy. Chỉ trong thoáng chốc, từ chỗ nghèo túng, ông bỗng vươn lên hàng khá giả nhất vùng.
Bị đồn thổi vì mắc bệnh lạ
Thế nhưng, niềm vui chẳng tày gang đối với gia đình của canh điền khi bỗng chốc giàu có. Tưởng chừng hạnh phúc từ đây sẽ viên mãn trong ngôi nhà khang trang mới xây xong, các con ông được tiếp tục đi học. vậy và xui xẻo lại ập xuống, khi người đàn ông cường tráng đột nhiên thành kẻ bại liệt ngồi một chỗ nương nhờ vợ con săn sóc. Thấy ông bị như vậy, nhiều người còn ác ý cho rằng: “Trời cho ông đổi đời nhưng đang lấy đi của ông đôi bàn chân khỏe mạnh”. Họ còn to nhỏ với nhau về việc ông giấu diếm hai tờ xổ số trúng đã khiến ông như vậy! Những tin đồn khiến người đàn ông “trọc phú” bị bại liệt càng thêm hoang mang, lo sợ.
Nhắc lại việc bỗng dưng thành người bại liệt, ông bần thần nhớ lại: “Gia đình tôi theo đạo Thiên chúa từ lâu nên cuối tuần thường đến nhà thờ Xuân Mỹ cầu nguyện. Lúc đó vào ngày cuối năm 2008 (2 năm sau khi ông trúng số - PV), tôi đang đứng ở hàng ghế trên nhà thờ đọc kinh bỗng dưng cảm thấy đôi chân bắt đầu tê nhức. Rồi sau đó, bỗng có một sức nặng ghê gớm làm tôi chùn chân ngã quỵ xuống ngay giữa giáo đường nhà thờ. Chứng kiến sự việc, mọi người hoảng sợ hô hào nhau đưa tôi đi bệnh viện cấp cứu”. Trải qua thời gian nằm viện khá lâu, bệnh tình của ông vẫn không hề thuyên giảm. Ông vẫn nằm liệt một chỗ trên giường bệnh với đôi bàn chân đau nhức không thể cử động. Cuối cùng, bệnh viện đành phải bó tay và trả về để gia đình tiện chăm sóc.
Khi trở về nhà, bất lực nhìn chồng ngồi trên chiếc xe lăn, vợ ông “vái tứ phương” cầu cứu khắp nơi, tìm các thầy thuốc xa gần những mong người chồng trụ cột khỏe mạnh ngày nào trở lại. Có lúc hoang mang vì lực bất tòng tâm, gia đình đã mời thầy về cúng bái nhưng lần nào cũng tốn kém tiền bạc mà chẳng ích gì. Theo thời gian, tiền trúng số dần dần “đội nón ra đi”, trong khi bệnh tật của ông chẳng hề có dấu hiệu biến chuyển. “Lộc trời” phút chốc tiêu tan, bản thân thì bị miệng lưỡi thiên hạ đồn thổi ác ý, ông chỉ ước rằng trước kia mình đừng trúng số! Lúc ấy, chỉ có người vợ hiền và các con là chôc dựa tinh thần duy nhất cho người đàn ông đang đau khổ cả về thể xác lẫn tinh thần này.
Nhưng cuối cùng,may mắn một lần nữa lại mỉm cười với người đàn ông bất hạnh. Sau bao ngày tháng mỏi mắt tìm kiếm “thần dược” mong chữa lành bệnh cho chồng, vợ ông qua người quen giới thiệu đã tìm đến một vị thầy lang ở làng kế bên với bài thuốc bắc hiệu nghiệm. Sau vài tháng uống thuốc, ông đã có thể dậy được và tập được một số động tác chân nhẹ nhàng. Sau đó, kết hợp với việc luyện tập cơ chân và uống thuốc đều đặn, một năm sau ông đã dần đi lại được trong niềm vui tột cùng của vợ con. Từ đó, những lời đồn ác ý đã rơi vào quên lãng bởi ông đã vực dậy trở lại và trở lại như xưa.
Số tiền trúng số đã ra đi cùng với căn bệnh quái ác, vì thế, những đứa con của ông đành học hành dang dở, duy chỉ còn ngôi nhà mới như một “dấu tích” của “thần may mắn” vẫn còn hiện diện trong cuộc sống của ông.
