9:24 PM - Sissoko on: Mali make their second substitution bringing on former Liverpool midfielder, Mohamed Sissoko. He makes his first appearance for the Eagles in nearly three years.
9:22 PM - Quietly confident: Niger seems relatively comfortable playing deep, defending the Malian attacks, and waiting for the counter attack. Niger would have come into this game having won three of their last five games. They only failed to score in two of their last five games, so is a goal on the cards?
9:20 PM - Note: Remember to read all about your favourite teams and players on the supersport.com website:
9:15 PM - What a save! Seydou Keita with a fierce shot from outside the 18-yard area. The Niger goalkeeper managed to get a strong hand to it and push it past the posts, giving Mali their seventh corner of the night. Once again the Eagles fail to make the corner count.
9:07 PM - Ouch: Mohamed Traore off the pitch receiving treatment after a high boot from Mohamed Soumaila hit him in the abdomen. Soumaila booked for his offence.
9:05 PM - A game of two halve? Will this be a game of two halves, or can we expect more of the same we saw in the first half? This game desperately needs a goal, and Mali takes the initiative by bringing on Mahamadou Samassa for Cheick Diarra.
8:47 PM - Dull, dull, dull: The first half has been very forgetful as Mali fails to convert a corner in the dying seconds of the first half. Will we be left disappointed at the end of 90 minutes, or will the half time team talks give the teams some extra motivation to come out and score? Mali clearly dominated possession in the first half, but failed to have a single shot on target.
8:40 PM - So close, but so far: French-based midfielder, Mahamane Traore, with a powerful shot from outside the 18-yard area, but it doesn't bother the Niger keeper as it goes wide. With five minutes remaining in the half, are the Eagles getting nervous about the fact that they haven't scored yet?
8:37 PM - Heading toward another stalemate? 35 minutes into the game and neither team looks like scoring a winner. Mali have occasional attacks, but yet to really threaten the Niger goal. Niger on the other hand seems content with sitting deep and defending the Eagles' attacks.
8:15 PM - French influence: Malian striker, Cheick Diabate who plays his club football for French side Bordeaux, is one of 54 Afcon players plying their trade in the French leagues. Do you know how many Afcon players represent English Premier League clubs? Samba Diakite, Mahamadou Diarra and Modibo Maiga are just three of them.
8:02 PM - And, we're off: Mali gets us going. The Eagles with most of the possession in the opening minutes. Will they be able to emulate their performance from last?
7:57 PM - Action time: Anthems done and now it's time for the second group B game today. Will there be a winner in this game? Who will walk away with the three points today? Will Mali's experience get them over the line, or will the underdogs cause an upset today as they aim to end their Afcon losing streak?
