Chic-fil-A, the famously delicious chicken joint whose owner sparked controversy last year with his anti-gay remarks, is making moves to open a location in Enfield, Conn.
The Georgia-based chain is nearing completion of its first location in the state, on Federal Road in Brookfield. An opening date has not been announced. Chic-fil-A had submitted plans to open another location on Route 5 in Wallingford, the Record Journal reported, but there's been no movement there.
The plans for Enfield were unveiled during a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting Thursday night. According to Hartford Courant reporter Mikaela Porter, the commission voted 5-0 in favor of Chic-fil-A's application — a 4,900-square-foot space, complete with a drive-thru and outdoor seating — to open on Hazard Avenue.
Porter Tweeted a picture of what the Enfield Chic-fil-A could look like.
