Back when Holden made lots of decent cars I'm sure, and didn't import Korean excuses for cars *Cough barina *cough

A sad day indeed, this was my first car 23 years ago. Vc commodore. I loved that old car.󾍅

Sad

Bloody disgrace

Yes indeed, although of course now they'll just suck even more money out of us cos they'll all just go on Centrelink! Geez I'd love it if the Australian gov subsidised agriculture even a fraction of what they subsidise the manufacturing industry....

Yeh Reckon Steve they had it good sucking money out of the Tax Payers,

Listening to Ray Hadley and Allan Jones this morning and that was exact sentiment. Trade unions asking for more and more money, the base wage for the lowest of employees at Holden is over $80,000 a year not including shifts, benefits, OT etc. Wish I could be on that money, now they will have a lot less members in their union!

Now the Unions can sit back and scratch their heads, wondering what the hell just happened!? Time for Unions to reflect upon the damage they have inflicted upon the Australian manufacturing industry.

I agree Graham the Unions have destroyed Industry in Australia.

:-( End of a era very sad

Sad day for Australia :(

If they dropped the prices then mb more ppl would have bought more! I love holden but would never be able to afford off the shelf price except mb 3rd hand rack

Devastated. Holden's were first made when my mum was born. I knew it was coming but gees man come on. Always a Holden girl.

All good things must come to an end

New Government....Bad decision.....I can see the Liberals takin' the debt up to 1 Trillion in the next 3 years and blaming it all on Labor...Jabba Joe , on the go!......Turn 'em Tony , full of Baloney....Hurricane Hunt.....The little runt! :)

How much do they want for the plant?

Scumbag joe hope you are happy ?

yeh take the money and run

What is sad is that Holden didn't look at a marketing strategy to increase their sales share. Other car suppliers did low interest deals with lenders and increased their market share. Holden and ford didn't change their sales tactics. On top of this the LNP govt does not support Australian jobs. They support the offshoring of manufacturing, IT and service jobs that line the pockets of their LNP fund raising members. They will do all of this to lower wages and try and blame unions. Tony Abbott and his cronies couldn't organise a root in a brothel with a fist full of fifties. They will create the dire situation that they sold to their voters.

To those suggesting that this LNP government is not to blame, it is not a matter of what the Current government has done, it is a matter of what they are not prepared to do. They are in Government, they must behave as one and accept responsibility.
