I de-stress by listening to Enya while Google image searching "recipes involving potatoes." Then I watch "2 Cool Llamas" on YouTube.

When it comes to destressing, I take matters into my own hands. The end of the year can be especially daunting those first few semesters, and my solution is to go find yourself a kitty. Cats can captivate even the most motivated studier. Whether they're falling asleep, playing with your shoelace or just being cat-like. Don't worry if you feel like those lost hours staring at your kitty is lost time, its not - I swear. For those living on campus - the sewers under Abel-Sandoz are a great place to go kitty shopping.

I spend a lot of time on my back deck, especially in the evening and night time. I live on the third floor of my building, and the view from my deck is relatively nice. What I really like about it, though, is the ambiance of the area. It's kind of darkly lit, not to the point you can't see for a bit, but enough so that you kind of become unaware of your own presence. It's like disappearing for a bit. It's nice.

If and when I finally get time to myself or need extra motivation to finish off a few projects, I turn to Disney movies. I have an impressive collection of DVDs and Netflix at my disposal. Something about the characters and music of my childhood brings back the comfort of simpler times. Thanks to countless re-watchings, I have most of these movies memorized, so they are perfect background action. While watching, I can eat, fold laundry, clean my room, scroll the internet, do simpler assignments, or just sit and enjoy. This way, I'm simultaneously relaxing, gaining comfort and getting something done. Disney movies are the perfect de-stress tool.

At 23, I'm a self-professed cat lady. To destress, I go home and cuddle with my two adopted cats, 1-year-old Clara and 9-year-old Toby. They don't exactly get along, but they're both content to curl up on my legs and help me forget about the overwhelming amount of things I have to do.
