Gov. Chafee has directed that only essential state employees, as determined by their respective agencies, should report to work for first shift on Tuesday. First shift covers the 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. time frame and applies to all who work during those hours, except for those designated as essential employees.

Both offices will be closed again tomorrow as will court. Please call the 800-494-8100 Helpline if you need assistance.

A major high tide is expected around 8PM and another on Tues 10AM. The one tonight could be 18 inches higher than this morning's 8AM high tide that caused significant flooding.
