In a world where advanced technology has become a norm it's no suprise that children and adutls alike are moving at a very expeditious pace. The start of the internet was an 'awing' event to the world. Now the power to be connected to anyone anywhere was in the hands of most and wasn't as tedious as writing a letter then posting it out or making phone calls. Although at first the internet was used to output information and it was used by more influential people or companies there is a drastic change on how it's used today. Today, anyone and everyone has the power to say what they want, when they want and how they want. The use of Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, blogs etc. we've created somewhat of a alarming world. For example, summers used to be remembered for the time spent outdoors running around and enjoying the bright summer sun. However, now days children are glued to not only the television but to technology itself.  Forget get fighting over the remote because now days kids and teenagers can just take their Ipads and "lock" themselves in their rooms for hours. In this American article, the author Dawn talks about the best way on putting limitations on the kids of today so they can head out and really enjoy the outdoors.

This world we've created is alarming also because now fact and fiction about anyone or any thought can be massed to any audience in the blink of an eye. If something substantial takes place, everyone is in the know in the blink of an eye. Weather that be a verdict of a court, a story of hope, a new advancement or even a death of a celebrity. Websites which track celebrities have multiple stories created and posted overnight insuring the world knows.

(Not sure how to imbed the sources again)

In the famous book, 1984, the idea that "Big Brother is watching you" is the alarming fact that sends terror and keeps the people in line. Although there are many things to pick out from this book the fact that the citizens can't move, say, eat, or carry on their day without living in fear is the overwhelming theme. The citizens are being watched constantly - every second of every day.

The almost terrifying fact is that our world today has become like that. The use of technology insures that everyone is capturing and making public everything. Social media has the biggest hand in that but everything from lunch, fashion, mundane day to day event to big life events like having children, being engaged are being captured and are being shared instantaouesly. The biggest difference between the book 1984 and today is that in the book the government was informing and doing the watching but in our world all the government is doing is watching. We with the help of technology are watching ourselves. There is no need for "Big Brother".
