This week is your last chance to give @HornimanWalrus a big wave goodbye before he heads to Margate for the Summer bit.ly/16y3D52
The famously over-stuffed walrus, weighing in at just under one ton, had been in the Horniman Museum's Natural History Gallery since 1901. Since then, he hadn’t moved more than 25 feet, so getting him out and on his way to the coast was a huge task.
@HornimanWalrus Be careful! You are a legend in our family. #winchwalrus
@HornimanMuseum I'll be following on @instagram Be careful with him!!!
@ElizabethFell1 No worries - our Conservation Department are down there taking good care of him. He's one important Walrus, after all.
My personal beautician is in today to give me a buff up before my summer holidays. Have asked for a mani, pedi and a flippi.
@HornimanWalrus I drew much of the elaborate cleaning procedure of the walrus in my sketchbook: lottiestoddart.tumblr.com/post/500862525…
