Saturday's loss against the Pittsburgh Panthers further agitates Blue Demons fans

Five months into the 2012-2013 basketball season, DePaul University's Blue Demons men's basketball team has yet to rain hell fire on any other team but their own.  With a record of 11-20, the string of losses continued Saturday night with in a game against the No. 20 Pittsburgh Panthers.
Strangely enough, Pittsburgh scored 81 points in last year's game versus DePaul which resulted in a Blue Demons win with a final score of 84-81.

One thing this season has not failed to do is to distress students and alumni alike.
The elusiveness of athletic success has turned the DePaul name into a jeer and is hardly considered exemplary athletics as demonstrated by Twitter users during the women's basketball team's game Saturday versus the Marquette Golden Eagles which resulted in a win for Blue Demons,77-69, and the Wednesday men's team's loss to Syracuse, 78-57.
In light of the string of losses, the D-E-M-O-N-S Twitter account has emerged with criticism of the program, and more unabashedly yet, calls for the termination of athletic director Jean Lenti Ponsetto's position with the hashtag #fireJLP prominently featured on the page.
As DePaul finalizes its transition to the basketball-only league of the Big East conference on June 30, the Daily Herald poses several vital questions that the masses have been thinking and comments on the efficiency of coach Oliver Purnell and Ponsetto.
Regardless of the trials that plague the Blue Demons, hope remains that fire will blaze in hell once again.
