Storified by Fanie Heyns · Sat, Feb 23 2013 06:08:45

SOUTH AFRICA LOSES REVIEW AFTER LEG-BEFORE-WICKET SHOUT:  Dale Steyn struck Sarfraz Ahmed in front and South Africa reviews the decision after Billy Bowden decided there was bat involved.  The TV-umpire gives Ahmed the benefit of the doubt.  Pakistan is on 113 for five. Steyn is fired up and looks irritated and annoyed about that decision.  Steyn bowls one at 144 kilometres per hour.

FLYING ELGAR ALMOST TAKES A MIRACLE CATCH:  Dean Elgar flies to his left and almost takes an acrobatic miracle catch to remove Sarfraz Ahmed with his score on 5 off Vernon Philander.  Elgar saved a certain boundary, and it was a brilliant attempt to catch Ahmed. Younis Khan is on 15, and Pakistan is wobbling on 104 for five.

STEYN THUNDERBOLTS:  Dale Steyn bowls a delivery at 146.3 kilometres per hour, and another one at 144.5 km/h. He is really producing some hostile deliveries while bowling at Younis Khan, Pakistan’s best batsman. Khan is on 15 after hitting Steyn through the covers for a glorious four. Pakistan reaches 100 for five.

SIYABONGA SANGWENI LIKES HIS CRICKET:  The Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga Sangweni also is at the third test at SuperSport Park, enjoying South Africa’s dominance with the ball, and watching a fiery spell by Dale Steyn. Pakistan is on 97 for five. Steyn is building up some gas, and bowling with some pace now.

STEYN STRIKES AS PAKISTAN-SLIDE CONTINUES:  Asad Shafiq is trapped in front by a Dale Steyn-delivery that swung back into the right-hander. Shafiq scored six and Pakistan slips to 95 for five. Shafiq was a centurion at Newlands, so this is a big scalp for South Africa.

TEA: SOUTH AFRICA IN COMMAND AS PAKISTAN SLIPS:  South Africa had Pakistan reeling on 91 for four at tea on Saturday on the second day of the third test at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

Earlier, AB de Villiers propelled the Proteas to 409 in their first innings with a stylish 121, his sixteenth test ton.

Pakistan resumed on 9 without loss after lunch on Saturday, and Imran Farhat guided them to 46 without loss with an attractive array of good off-side drives.

But the reintroduction of Vernon Philander after an indifferent first spell, changed Pakistan’s fortunes.

Philander trapped Farhat in front for 30 to reduce Pakistan to 46 for one.

Philander also removed Azhar Ali shortly afterwards for six as he played the ball onto his off-stump off a bottom edge as the inconsistent bounce became more of a factor.

Kyle Abbott added insult to injury for Pakistan as the test debutant struck twice in an impressive first spell.

In his first over, he produced a delivery that bounced and Mohammad Hafeez played a loose drive at it, finding the expert hands of

Dean Elgar in the gully position, and departing for 18.

Pakistan had slipped from 46 without loss to 56 for three.

Abbott then produced arguably the SA delivery of the day with another delivery that bounced, but that also moved away, and Misbah-ul-Haq was excellently caught by Alviro Petersen at second slip for 10.

Abbott, with 2-16 in six overs, and Philander, with 2-21 in seven overs, were the destroyers-in-chief.

YOUNIS INTO HIS STRIDE:  Younis Khan hit a beautiful cover drive off Rory Kleinveldt to move to 7 as he steers Pakistan to 79 for 4. Khan is on seven. He and Asad Shafiz are key to Pakistan’s attempt to resurrect the innings. They added 220 for the fifth wicket at Newlands in the first innings of the second test.

ABBOTT STRIKES AGAIN, PAKISTAN IN DIRE STRAITS:  Kyle Abbott produces an out-swinger that bounces. Alviro Petersen moves smartly at second slip and completes a superb low catch. Misbah-ul-Haq is gone for 10, as Pakistan slumps to 75 for 4. Abbott has taken 2 for 14 in his debut test. Abbott has the ability to move the ball both ways off the seam and gets some bounce as well.  South Africa scored 409 in their first innings

MISBAH BREAKS THE SHACKLES:  Misbah-ul-Haq hits an excellent cover drive for four off Rory Kleinveldt as Pakistan moves to 75 for three.

BODY BLOW FOR YOUNIS:  Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq faced 23 deliveries without scoring before Kyle Abbott is called for a no ball. That delivery by Abbott was a nasty one that wrapped Khan on the upper body.  Pakistan moves to 63 for three. Khan is on 1 and Misbah is yet to open his account.

STATE OF THE GAME: Younis Khan, on 8, and Azhar Ali, on 5, were in survival mode in Pakistan’s follow-on on 14 for one at stumps on Saturday, with another 239 runs needed to force South Africa to bat again on a treacherous strip. The inconsistent bounce, a fiery and fired-up Dale Steyn and an inspired debutant in the form of Kyle Abbott, await Pakistan on day three.

Storified by Fanie Heyns · Sun, Feb 24 2013 06:11:34

MY LEFT FOOT:  Dale Steyn takes his left boot and his socks off and studies his toes. He is troubled by some pain on his toes, and Brendon Jackson, the physiotherapist, is studying the damage and nursing him. Nobody will take the ball out of Steyn’s hands right now, except if he is troubled too much by that injury. Pakistan is on 187 for seven, and still trail South Africa by 66 runs in the follow-on.

STEYN ENDS STUBBORN PARTNERSHIP:  Dale Steyn ends a stubborn and defiant 69-run partnership between Saeed Ajmal and Sarfraz Ahmed by trapping Ajmal in front with a slower delivery, hitting Ajmal on his back leg. Ajmal leaves the scene after scoring 31. Pakistan slips to 183 for seven. Ahmed has 33. Steyn has now captured 331 wickets in 65 tests, and has gone past the legendary Allan Donald, who captured 330 wickets in 72 tests.

TEA WRAP:  An aggressive counter-attack by Saeed Ajmal and Sarfraz Ahmed resurrect Pakistan’s hopes of forcing South Africa to bat again as they powered the visitors to 176 for six at tea on Sunday on the third day of the third test at Supersport Park in Centurion.

They featured in a defiant 62-run partnership off 79 balls for the seventh wicket. Ajmal, with 30, and Ahmed, with 27, will resume after the break. They still trail South Africa by 77 runs.

A soft dismissal shortly after lunch with Pakistan in a solid position on 93 for two, changed the visitor’s fortunes.

Imran Farhat and Azhar Ali looked to have blunted the South African attack with a stubborn 54-run partnership, but then a misunderstanding between these two and a magnificent rocket-throw from the fine-leg boundary by Dale Steyn led to Ali being run out for 27.

South Africa smelled blood and rocked the middle-order after Ali’s departure.

Farhat was caught behind by AB de Villiers off Kyle Abbott when he attempted a square cut off Kyle Abbott. He was gone for 43. Farhat faced 91 balls and hit five fours.

Rory Kleinveldt operated with great rhythm in his second spell, and his double-break left Pakistan wobbling on 106 for six.

He had Misbah-ul-Haq caught behind off a delivery that swung through the air and nipped away off the seam, as Misbah perished for 5.

Shortly afterwards, Asad Shafiq got a leading edge to a delivery that held up and he was caught in the covers by Vernon Philander off Kleinveldt for six.

A belligerent Ajmal and Ahmed then decided to take the attack to the bowlers with a couple of ambitious strokes, including a blistering counter-attack against Dale Steyn when he came back for his second spell after lunch.

Steyn was the pick of the attack, finishing with 2-43 in fifteen overs. Kleinveldt captured 2-33 in thirteen overs.

SARFRAZ, SAEED POWER PAKISTAN TO TEA:  The belligerent Saeed Ajmal and Sarfraz Ahmed powered Pakistan to 176 for six at tea in their follow-on, still trailing South Africa by 77 runs. Ajmal, on 30, and Ahmed, on 27, will resume after the tea break. Their 62-run partnership for the seventh wicket came off 79 balls. Dale Steyn, with 2-43 in fifteen overs, was the pick of the attack. Rory Kleinveldt also featured, taking 2-33.

FIFTY-PARTNERSHIP DRIVES PAKISTAN:  Sharfraz Ahmed hits two early boundaries against Dale Steyn and Saeed Ajmal pulls another delivery for a four as these two complete their fifty-run partnership for the seventh wicket off only 58 balls in their follow-on. Pakistan has moved rapidly to 169 for six and trail South Africa by 84 runs. Ajmal is on 29 and Sarfraz on 22.

AJMAL PLAYS IN CAVALIER FASHION:  Saeed Ajmal hits Vernon Philander over mid-on for a boundary as he and Sharfraz Ahmed take the fight to South Africa. They have added 41 runs off 54 balls in the follow-on and have guided Paksitan to 155 for six. Pakistan still trail South Africa by 98 runs. Dale Steyn is introduced into the attack, with Ajmal on 20 and Ahmed on 13.

AJMAL IN BULLISH MOOD: Saeed Ajmal hits Vernon Philander through the slip cordon to move to 19, while Sharfraz Ahmed has moved to 13 as Pakistan moves to 150 for six in their follow-on. Ajmal is in aggressive mood and looks to take the fight to the SA attack.

AJMAL SMASHES PETERSON:  Saeed Ajmal opens his shoulders and hits Robin Peterson for a six over long-on  to move Pakistan to 136 for six in the follow-on. Ajmal is on 14 and Sharfraz Ahmed is on 8.

Rob-Jan de Jong over Strategic Decision Making

$

Storified by Jelle Drijver · Sun, Feb 24 2013 06:16:15

In tijden van crisis hoor je vaak mensen roepen: Don't just stand there! Do Something! terwijl het vanuit managerial perspective veel verstandiger is om aan te houden: Don't just do something! Stand there!
Rob-Jan haalde o.a. de John Carter Case aan, liet de groep antwoord geven op de vraag: If you were John Carter, what would you do?

4:10pm - Something has to give soon.
Zabaleta's rasping drive is cleared off the line by Cahill, he should be concussed that was hit with some venom, as City continue to make inroads into the Chelsea box.
Jack Rodwell is having a game of his life, first he tests Cech from range and the keeper palms over, the keeper once again thwarts him from the resultant corner, getting down low to gobble up his header.
4:03pm - Second half resumes in the Nedbank Cup.
Celtic should look to kill off what is a fading Milano challenge early in the half and reserve some energy in this heat.
Nedbank Cup score updates:
Bloemfontein Celtic 2 - 1 Milano United
Island 2 - 7 Polokwane City - Full time
Mbombela United 1 - 2 Vasco da Gama
Dynamos Giyani 0 - 1 Platinum Stars
Magesi 0 - 1 Jomo Cosmos
Free State Stars 1 - 0 Witbank Spurs

3:52pm - After wavering City's early storm, Chelsea are now clawing their way back into the match, stringing more than five passes together and spending considerable time in the opposition half.
Manchester City 0 - 0 Chelsea
3:45pm - Ooh! That was close!
Cech to the rescue as City start a campfire in the Chelsea final third. Nastic the one denied by lock Cech...with his headgear he wouldn't look out of place in a line-out alongside Victor Matfield and Bakkies Botha.
3:40pm - Celtic have now turned the tables on Milano and are now 2-1 up. After such a bright start, the sun is now taking it's toll on the minnows.
Nedbank Cup score updates:
Bloemfontein Celtic 2 - 1 Milano United
Island 1 - 6 Polokwane City
Mbombela United 1 - 2 Vasco da Gama
Dynamos Giyani 0 - 1 Platinum Stars
Magesi 0 - 1 Jomo Cosmos

Learn to lose, strive to win. ...Now, don't get me started on political correctness gone mad!!
